Speaking of social justice, here are a few pictures with stats about rape and violence against women, and one about the wage gap. For a more positive look at feminism, here's an article about how science shows that most prehistoric cave artists may actually have been women! (Which corresponds well with the theory proposed by both Catherine McCoid and Leroy McDermott that the famous "Venus" figurines were created by women, not men, as self portraits and possibly for the purposes of tracking their own pregnancies.)
In other science news, some of you have probably heard about how NASA found a nearby(ish) solar system with multiple planets that have the potential to support life. It's pretty cool news, and I love this artist's rendition of what each of these planets looks like.
Also, because it's fun, check out the music of a unicorn! In art news, I'd also like to recommend the poetry of Lucille Clifton, because it's awesome stuff. She's now officially one of my fave poets, alongside E.E. Cummings.
I've added six more videos to my speedlinking playlist, so you can check them out here, starting at number eighteen. *Language warning*
