Since it's almost 2014, I thought this would be a good time to share my picks for the best YA books of 2013! These are new releases from this past year that I read and loved and shall recommend to ye. If this goes well, I think I'll make it a yearly thing.
Do keep in mind that though I am a voracious reader, there is no way I could read every YA release from this year. The books are categorized, as seen below, in broad genre groups. They are all 4.5+ stars in my eyes. Onward ho!
Contemporary & Historical
Finally, here are some 2013 releases I haven't yet read, but am eager to.
Eager to Read
1) Once We Were by Kat Zhang. This second book in The Hybrid Chronicles continues a story set in a world where everyone is born with two souls, one of which is meant to die as they grow up.
2) Pawn by Aimee Carter. This sounds like an interesting royal conspiracy dystopian that includes a caste system.
3) Through the Zombie Glass by Gena Showalter. This is the second book in the Alice in Zombieland series, a fantasy zombie story with an intense romance.
