Well, this should be an interesting post... I actually won NaNoWriMo last night! Yes, I'm a winner. :D It's a record for me too, 18 days early. Last year it was 11 days. Now to finish the actual full novel, right? So how about we cover yesterday, the Winning Day in the Life of a NaNoWriMo-er (specifically, me, collegiate Kira)?
8:00 AM Alarm goes off, roll over and go back to sleep because there's no class til 9:30.
8:30 AM Get up, get dressed, eat gluten-free Oreos in my room while watching One Direction award some random girls something random on TV.
9:24 AM Race over to Psych 101. sit down, and take the online Psych quiz instead of paying attention to the lesson, which is on personality. Then work on NaNoNovel. Hit a climactic point just as class ends.
10:50 AM Go back to dorm, and write a bunch more.
11:45 AM Realize I'm going to be very late to my church-sponsored religion class. Decide not to care because I'm working on my novel and given the point of the story I'm at, it's much more interesting than a church class.
12:00 PM Ditch church class to go eat lunch with my friends, since I'm already going to be late, because I can't very well go to class on an empty stomach.
12:50 PM Go to English in the library computer lab. Work on PowerPoint for presentation on emotional abuse. Get so caught up in it, I forget to novel.
2:20 PM Go back to dorm, exercise bike to Lady Gaga, then dance to Lady Gaga because I'm a crazy person.
4:00 PM Work on NaNoNovel. Hit another climactic point just as...
5:15 PM ...I realize I have to go eat dinner so I'm not late for orchestra. Grumble a lot, go eat with a couple friends.
5:33 PM Run into orchestra, have rehearsal.
6:45 PM Call Mom to grumble about the new guest cellist, who is annoying me. Walk back to dorm, and write more NaNoNovel, while occasionally getting distracted by the Internet. Continue to have strange addiction to pressing the "Update My Word Count" button on the NaNoWebsite.
8:40 PM Hit 50,000 words on the NaNoNovel, and therefore win NaNoWriMo 2012 18 days early. Tell Facebook. Tell Skype. Dance around room to Lady Gaga.
9:00 PM Refuse to go to bed because I'd rather mess around online.
9:45 PM Finally decide to go to bed, because I have a recital on Wednesday, and also nine o'clock class. Get in my PJs, and then actually start reading a book.
11:14 PM Actually go to bed.
Yup. That just about sums it up. Fascinating, right? And now I shall say goodbye... Thanks for reading, and I'll see you Saturday for the return of humor! I've got a lot of Harry Potter-themed material for you, which I hope you'll enjoy. Don't miss it!
