I'm looking for some help choosing my Halloween costume! For the last few years, I've dressed up as the main character of whatever book I planned to write for NaNoWriMo, which started the next day. This year, however, I'll be writing a sequel to the book I wrote last year, and that means no new character. Which means I need a costume! I've got three ideas, and I'd really really like your input. Please vote in the poll! Thank you.
Option One: Katniss Everdeen from The Hunger Games
Obviously, the heroine of one of my favorite series is a good option. I've never dressed as Katniss before, and I think it might be fun, although it is a bit cliche. Plus, dressing as her gives me the opportunity to pretend I'm actually, like, tough and stuff!
If I used this costume, I could reuse it in November when Catching Fire comes out and be one of those people who dresses up to go to a movie premiere. My friend Julia did this for The Hunger Games, so it's not like I'm the only one. Also with this costume, I get to dye my hair brown for a month or two, which is something I'm really curious to try but have never been brave enough to do.
Here are the pieces I'd use for this costume:
Option Two: A Ravenclaw from Harry Potter
I have dressed up as Hermione Granger before, back in middle school. She's my favorite. But recently, I joined Pottermore and found out that my official Hogwarts House is Ravenclaw. Seeing as Hermione is a Gyrffindor, I thought it might be nice to do a HP costume again, but this time, within my own house. The picture to the side is Luna Lovegood, but I'm not thinking of any specific character for my costume. I'll just be me, as a Ravenclaw.
This would be cool because, hello, it's my house, and I get to show pride. Also because Harry Potter. It'll also be less expensive than the Katniss costume and fairly easy to put together.
Here are the pieces I'd use:
Option Three: The Ninth Doctor from Doctor Who
My grandma, who recently passed away, had a black leather jacket. I have it now, and it made me think, since Nine is my favorite Doctor, maybe I could be him (except... a girl, but, you know.) My favorite episode of Doctor Who is from the Ninth Doctor's time, so it really is a nice choice. I'd get to sort of honor my grandma (in a weird sideways way) while also being my favorite and most sassy Doctor.
This is third option for my Halloween costume is similarly easy and cheap. Here are the pieces I'd use for this costume:
Now that you've seen the options, it's time to vote. Thank you very much! (Editor's Note: The poll is now closed.)
