I'm looking for some help choosing my Halloween costume! Normally, I dress up as the main character of the book I'll be writing for NaNoWriMo, which starts the next day. This year, however, I'm continuing the book I wrote last year into a trilogy for NaNo, and that means no new character. Which means I need a new costume! I've got three ideas, and I'd really really like some help picking. Please vote in the poll, or comment your idea if you can't see said poll! Thank you.
Option One: Katniss Everdeen from The Hunger Games
Obviously, the heroine of one of my favorite series is a good option to put out there. I've never dressed as Katniss before, and I think it might be kind of fun, although it is a bit cliche. Plus, dressing as Katniss gives me the opportunity to pretend I'm actually, like, tough and stuff, which is fun.
Another note: if I used this costume, I could reuse it in November when Catching Fire comes out, to be one of those crazy people who dresses up to go to a movie premiere. My friend Julia did this for The Hunger Games, so it's not like I'm the only one. Another another note: with this costume, I get to dye my hair brown for a month or two, which is something I'm really curious to try but have never really been brave enough to do.
So. Is this your vote? Speak up below. Meanwhile, here are the pieces I'd be using for my costume:
Option Two: A Ravenclaw from Harry Potter
Now, I have dressed up as Hermione Granger of said Harry Potter series before, back in middle school. Of course I did. She's my favorite. But recently, I joined Pottermore and found out that my official Hogwarts House is Ravenclaw. Seeing as Hermione is a Gyrffindor, I thought it might be nice to do a HP costume again, but this time, within my own house. The picture to the side is, indeed, Luna Lovegood, but I'm not thinking of any specific character for my costume. I'll just be me, as a Ravenclaw.
This would be cool because, hello, it's my house, and I get to show pride. Also because Harry Potter. It'll also be less expensive than the Katniss costume, incidentally, and fairly easy to put together. Is this your choice? Vote below! Here are the pieces I'll be using:
Option Three: The Ninth Doctor from Doctor Who
My grandma, who recently passed away, had a black leather jacket. I ended up getting it, and it made me think, since Nine is my favorite Doctor, maybe I could be the Ninth Doctor (except... a girl, but, you know.) My favorite episode of Doctor Who is even from the Ninth Doctor's time, so it really is a nice choice to have around. I'd get to I guess sort of honor my grandma (in a weird sideways way) while also being my favorite and most sassy Doctor.
So, this is the new third option for my Halloween costume, which is similarly easy and cheap. Is this the one you like? Make your choice below. For now, here are the pieces I'd use for this costume.
Now that you've seen the options, it's time to vote. Vote! I need your help! Poll is below; if you can't see it, comment you choice instead. Thank you very much, and come back next time for my first ever novel attempt.
