My Bucket List

An open book
1) Publish one of my novels.
Well, obviously this is a huge part of my life's goal as it is. So this was a no-brainer. Frankly, if I only manage this first little bucket list thing, just publishing one novel, I'll probably be upset. Which I guess leads us into...

A pile of books with camera film wrapped around them
2) See one of my books become a movie.
This one I'm real excited about. This would mean I really got somewhere, somewhere about the level I want to be. Bestselling and cool enough to have a movie that would actually make some money. Plus, I really like movies. A lot. I think I've talked about this. Trailers, scores, stories, all of it.

3) Sing in the Mormon Tabernacle Choir.
Like, when I'm really old and retired and no kids and stuff. Since I'm Mormon, and I love to sing, and the Mormon Tabernacle Choir is one of the greatest choirs in the country, no joke, I'd love to have one of their two-year stints. It'd be really cool. Of course, it would require a lot of skill, I have no doubt. But luckily they switch out a lot. And I am learning to sing better at college.

4) See a musical in person.
Yeah, yeah, I know. I'm pathetic for not having seen one outside of movie versions, when I'm, you know, a Music major and everything. But I'm just a deprived child, OK??

5) Meet and play cello with Steven Sharp Nelson.
He's my cello idol, the cellist in The Piano Guys, who is very gifted and funny and just great. I feel like it would be awesome to meet him, and even awesomer to play with him. Not for a video or whatever, or a track, just for fun. Maybe even just with an orchestra that he happens to be working with. I just want to play with him. And speaking of cello goals...

6) Play "Pas de Deux" from The Nutcracker with an orchestra.
That's my favorite Classical (technically it's from the Romantic era, Tchaikovsky and all, details, details) piece ever, and I want to play it, so bad. It doesn't really work solo cello, let me tell you. We need that full-on orchestra sound. I consider this one of the best romance tracks ever. I use it a lot when I'm writing.

Thomas S. Monson
7) Meet one of our LDS prophets.
Our church president, basically. I've been alive for about three of them so far, I believe, and I figure I should meet at least one in my lifetime. It seems like the thing to do. That picture there is our modern prophet, President Thomas S. Monson. I like him a lot, he's a funny guy.

That is that for my little bucket list! I'll probably add on to it  in the future, but I'm happy. Got any ideas of your own? (I might steal a couple. I'm sure there's lots of things in the world for me to do that I'm not thinking of.)

In news, I'm still intensely editing the THE PROPHECY KEEPER. Once I'm done, I'll send out to critique partners. Then next step is writing the query letter (oh, yeah, and going back to college. Bleh. Homework.) Pitches are so hard. This should be interesting.

Also, question of the week, why have sloths suddenly gone viral on the internet? I swear, there are pictures of sloths everywhere all of a sudden. Not that they're not cute, but... why?

Well, I'll see you next time for biographies of my favorite authors!

Why does anything go viral on the internet? :P

One of my major bucket list items is that I want to visit all seven continents. My grandparents have done that and it seems really cool.

Guess I need to make a bucket list. I've been on three continents. It's kind of hard to make it to Antartica! Good luck with that one!

I should make a bucket list. It will give me some motivation to do something after my mission haha
