It's time for another "on this day in my history" post, in which I go back through my diaries to see what was up with me on this day throughout the years! I'll be starting with 2006.
June 10th, 2006, Age 12
My family was part of a street-wide garage sale, which I greatly enjoyed. Then I spent a while organizing business and money stuff in the hopes of figuring out a plan to buy a laptop.
June 10th, 2007, Age 13
I went to church, apparently named our car "Subira," and thought a lot about boys. One of the church girls gave me some advice on dealing with braces, and I got invited to join the little string group for our church.
June 10th, 2008, Age 14
I walked the dogs, did some online contest stuff for Write It!, spent some time typing up old diaries, and did some editing on TWIST. Also went swimming.
June 10th, 2009, Age 15
I was hard at work writing the third book in the CHOSEN FOUR series as well as PERISHED, and organizing all kinds of editing/critique partner/agenty lists.
June 10th, 2010, Age 16
I panicked a bit about the guy I liked having a girlfriend, and worked on my online health class, which I basically booked through that summer. On this day, we were talking eating disorders, which made me realize that I had disordered thinking about the subject, for sure. So then I panicked again and went on a long rant about my history of self-confidence issues and how I'd thought I'd fixed it but now it turned out I hadn't and how was I going to get myself better? I had no idea what to do with myself. I also noted through that class, for the first time, the existence of body dysmorphic disorder, which I would soon begin attributing my body image problems to.
June 10th, 2011, Age 17
I was in Utah on vacation and struggling a bit with my fibromyalgia. I packed up and worked on stuff online and made some plans for my senior pictures, at which point I said something that strikes me as vaguely threatening about how everyone would remember me one day for my bestselling authorness.
June 10th, 2012, Age 18
I was having some trouble with the fibromyalgia, but went to church as usual. It was my first day joining the adult women in Relief Society, which turned out to be very boring. Back at home, I recorded some of WHAT IT TAKES TO DEAL on audio for my mom.
June 10th, 2013, Age 19
I was in the midst of my I-just-discovered-Doctor Who marathon, so I spent the day watching the series 4 specials with my brother and mourned the 10th Doctor's regeneration.
June 10th, 2014, Age 20
I went to help my autistic brother attend a summer robotics class, which didn't go too well, but I realized I understand him a lot more than I'd thought. Did homework for an online class and read a lot of library books.
So there you have it! Thanks for reading and please come back next time for a roundup of the guests posts and interviews I've done elsewhere on the web. In a week, I'll be doing a Wordy Wednesday post! I'm in the mood for a novel excerpt, but it's up to you to pick which one. Vote below! *Poll closed*
