Hey, friends! It's been quite a while since I last did an "on this day" post! So I thought today I'd go back through my diaries and share what was happening in my life on October 10th throughout the years, starting in 2005. Enjoy!
October 10th, 2005, 6th Grade
It was Columbus Day. We lit the fireplace for the first time that year, and I spent the day making dreamcatchers and other crafts.
October 10th, 2006, 7th Grade
I had a cold, and I was also in the middle of a bad fight with my best friends--something about kicking dirt at each other. My classes were normal. A boy in my science class decided it was his mission to make me laugh, and he managed to do so by telling me he loved me. I spent most of the day trying to reconcile the fight, which I finally managed over the phone, with lots of tears, that night.
October 10th, 2007, 8th Grade
It was a fairly typical day, where I went to classes, obsessed over my crush, and tried to cope with my depression.
October 10th, 2008, 9th Grade
My classes were pretty normal, although I was dealing with an injured thumb that made writing hard and orchestra impossible. I also found out that one of my closest friends was dating an 18-year-old high school senior, and I (and our other friends) freaked out. I still maintain that it was a bad decision, but in retrospect, I could have been a little less judgy about it.
October 10th, 2009, 10th Grade
It was Saturday. I had a random rash around one eye that made it look like I'd been punched. I went to Urgent Care, and they had no idea what it was. (It went away on its own later.) I also went to a bonfire at my friend's house.
October 10th, 2010, 11th Grade
This was a Sunday. I was tired and cold, and I spent most the day working on sending out to literary agents.
October 10th, 2011, 12th Grade
Another Columbus Day. This time, I watched Halloween movies on TV, read Crime and Punishment for class, and transcribed some of my old diaries.
October 10th, 2012, Freshman Year in College
My classes were normal. I went to improv club after, which was fun as always, and I worried some about my weight.
October 10th, 2013, 19 Years Old
I was at home between my transfer from Adams State to BYU-Idaho, fostering two kittens and transcribing my grandma's diaries.
October 10th, 2014, Junior Year in College
I found my classes boring today, except for my Literature into Film class, where we talked some about screenwriting. Then I stayed up late watching Supernatural.
October 10th, 2015, Senior Year in College
This Sunday, I was able to go to church, which by this point rare thanks to my sickness, and then I slept for most the day.
October 10th, 2016, 22 Years Old
I was at home, being sick. My pain was a bit worse than usual, and I felt a bit grumpy.
A pretty chill day, overall. How has October 10th been for you?
I'll be back tomorrow.
