Today's post is kind of a mix between, like, a makeup tutorial and a "what's in my bag" post. I don't use a purse, but I have a pretty decent makeup bag where I keep the makeup I use regularly for easy access. So today, I'll show you what's in my makeup bag, and tell you why I use each of those pieces.
First thing in my morning "makeup" routine is actually hair. That brush sees a lot of use, with my monstrous tresses. The other two things there are Avon Advanced Techniques Frizz Control Lotus Shield and Aussie Instant Freeze Hairspray. Those both see considerably less use than the brush -- I only use them if I'm going somewhere and I feel like it's worth the energy expenditure. This is why my hair looks so gosh darn amazing.
Here's the preparatory set: Cetaphil Daily Facial Moisturizer, Dove Clinical Protection Visibly Smooth deodorant in Wild Rose, and Avon MagiX Face Perfector. The moisturizer is your standard usual, the deodorant is ridiculously effective, and the face perfector is my "beauty secret", as they like to call it. It's a really awesome primer.
So here's the actual makeup set. The powder foundation and concealer I use so much that the labels have worn off, but I think they're from Maybelline (and both in a shade known as "Freaking Ridiculously Pale"). They're my main makeup things. I apply the concealer first to cover anything that might detract from the general appearance of my face, and I use the foundation to set it and to shift the tone a bit, as the foundation comes on darker than the concealer. Then I apply Avon Kohl Eyeliner in Intense Brown (because blue eyes), and some Avon AeroVolume Mascara. If, at this point, you're wondering why I have so many Avon things, it's because my mom used to be an Avon lady. Oh, and then there's a compact because mirrors are important.
This is my touch-up set. I use Clean & Clear Oil Absorbing Sheets usually once a day just to clean things up. The other two bits there are basic Avon lipbalms. I try to get ones that don't have too much tint, but I also have ones with tint (like the darker red one there) in case I want to be fancy with my lipbalm. In general, I've never considered myself someone who particularly needs lip color, but when I'm going out I might give it a go.
This is my set of more occasional use pieces. There's the Neutrogena Rapid Clear Acne Eliminating Spot Gel for those occasional breakouts, Avon hand lotion for dry hands or feet, a store-brand version of those small and very nice electric razors, which I highly recommend, a basic Avon nail care set, an Avon lipgloss (which I've had so long the actual name has also worn off), some floss and a eye pencil sharpener. Then up at the top we've got my special Avon Color Fold-up Palette, for extra special occasions and makeovers. It's got 18 eyeshadows, 3 blushes, and 18 lip glosses, and it's pretty darn legit. I've got another one like this, except gigantic, that I keep in a drawer with the rest of my extra makeup/hair/etc. bits. I like to fangirl over these things, and then hardly ever actually use them, lol.
And here are my final two pieces, my night ones. There's a good prescription acne medicine that generally keeps things clear for me and then a ClearSkin Professional Acne Mark Treatment, which I actually use every night all across my skin where there are scars that need clearing. It does help!
So there you have it, the things in my makeup bag. Thanks for reading, and I'll see you next time for my fandom wishlist!
