Today's post is a mix between a makeup tutorial and a "what's in my bag" post. I don't use a purse, but I do have a makeup bag where I keep the products I use regularly. So today, I'll show you what's in that bag and tell you why I use each product.
I start with my hair. That brush sees a lot of use, of course. The other two things there are Avon Advanced Techniques Frizz Control Lotus Shield and Aussie Instant Freeze Hairspray. Those both see considerably less use than the brush--I only use them if I'm going somewhere and I feel like it's worth the energy expenditure. This is why my hair looks so gosh darn amazing. (LOL.)
I prepare myself for makeup using Cetaphil Daily Facial Moisturizer, Dove Clinical Protection Visibly Smooth deodorant in Wild Rose, and Avon MagiX Face Perfector. The moisturizer is typical, the deodorant is ridiculously effective, and the face perfector is my "beauty secret", as they call it. It's a really awesome primer.
Here's the actual makeup set. The powder foundation and concealer I use so much that the labels have worn off, but I think they're from Maybelline (in a shade known as "Freaking Ridiculously Pale"). I apply the concealer first to cover anything that might detract from the general appearance of my face, and I use the foundation to set it. Then I apply Avon Kohl Eyeliner in Intense Brown (because blue eyes) and some Avon AeroVolume Mascara. If, at this point, you're wondering why I have so many Avon things, it's because my mom used to work for them. Oh, and there's a compact because mirrors are important.
This is what I use for touch-ups: Clean & Clear Oil Absorbing Sheets, usually once a day. The other two items there are basic Avon lip balms. I try to get ones that don't have too much tint, but I also have ones with tint (like the darker red one) in case I want to be fancy. In general, I've never considered myself someone who particularly needs lip color, but when I'm going out, I might give it a go.
I use these more occasionally. There's the Neutrogena Rapid Clear Acne Eliminating Spot Gel for breakouts, Avon hand lotion for dry hands or feet, a store-brand small electric razor, a basic Avon nail care set, an Avon lipgloss, some floss and a eye pencil sharpener. Up at the top, I have a Avon Color Fold-up Palette, for special occasions and makeovers. It's got 18 eyeshadows, 3 blushes, and 18 lip glosses, and it's pretty legit. I've got another one like this, except gigantic, that I keep in a drawer with the rest of my extra products.
I use two products at night: a good prescription acne medicine that generally keeps things clear and then ClearSkin Professional Acne Mark Treatment, which I use every night all across my skin where there are scars that need clearing.
